I have spent nearly two decades in the community college classroom, and I know exactly what it takes to go from confusion to command in mathematics. My approach is not about rushing through formulas — it's about building the kind of genuine understanding that makes math click, and stay clicked, long after the exam is over.
As a Mathematics professor at Oakton College, my entire professional focus is on teaching. Unlike research-oriented faculty who divide their attention between labs, publications, and students, I have dedicated my career exclusively to the craft of instruction. That means 19+ years of refining how to explain difficult concepts clearly, identifying where students get stuck, and developing strategies that actually work in practice.
I hold a Master of Science in Mathematics from Loyola University Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Loyola — where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. My academic foundation is rigorous, and I bring that same standard of rigor to every tutoring session.
Whether you are struggling with a foundational math course, working through calculus or statistics, or preparing for a high-stakes placement exam, I offer the kind of focused, patient, and expertly guided instruction that turns frustration into confidence.
"Mastery is not a talent. It is a method. My job is to give you that method — and the confidence to use it."
— Professor Borha
